KY 9/12 on Who We Are
We believe personal responsibility is a more diametric opposite to socialism than even capitalism can claim, and that level of responsibility is the foundation of KY 9/12. This idea was cultivated by average American couple, Eric and Lydia Wilson of Georgetown, deciding to organize a viewing of the Glenn Beck show that unveiled "The 912 Project". The organization grew as others decided on actions and events they could initiate and manage, woven within the founding nine principles and twelve values.
We are dedicated to our mission statement: "Making government smaller and We the People stronger". To that goal, KY 9/12 will continue to grow in several ways: in education on the Constitution and legislative events in Frankfort and Washington D.C.; in our city chapter meetings and their capacity to affect local change; in our ability to bring like-minded people together to let them know that they are not alone.
The grassroots spirit of KY 9/12 is still rooted in personal responsibility--that will never change. As the group evolves, the opportunity for more members to step forward with constructive ideas and assistance will also grow and continue to be the foundation of "The KY 9/12 Project".
KY 9/12 is everyday men and women who have always helped others when asked and now help the nation without being asked.
We will work closely with the official National 9/12 Project that Glenn inspired and continue to offer support for the 9/12 project in Kentucky. Although we will rally and make our voices heard in multiple venues and methods our primary focal point is education and empowerment. Going forward we will focus on these key areas:
- events (allowing people who desire to organize an event around the state that is in line with the principles and values to provide a forum to promote and resources to help make it a success)
Meetups, Tea Parties, & Events - tab
- information (continue to offer information that people may grow and we may cultivate educated population, this may include seminars, blogs, action alerts, or many other forums)
Look for seminars and educational forums coming to your area
Find discussions and information on the meetup message boards
sign up for our periodic newsletter
- local meetups (our main attention will be at driving people locally to effect change and become more active)
