Session 2) Government Econ 101 - Robert Martin
The economics of government size relative to the economy. As government takes a larger share of the economy, what are the tradeoffs? Is there an optimal government size relative to the economy? Can there be too little government? What must happen to freedom of choice as government grows? I will reserve time to talk about current economic conditions, financial reform, or other topics of interest to the audience.

Robert Martin is an Emeritus Boles Professor of Economics from Centre College in Danville Kentucky. He has years of experience understanding economic issues and conditions and how government size and policy impact the free market system. He has given numerous talks on this subject and considered a foremost expert on Nation’s Economies.

Session 3) Effect of HB 44 – Cindy Rich
Cindy Rich was elected as Boone County Property Valuation Administrator in 2006, recently won a primary bid for re-election and is unopposed in the general. She is a CPA by trade. While in office, Cindy discovered a tax rate calculation "loophole" that allows some taxing entities to charge more than 4% revenue increases, while leading taxpayers to believe it is only 4%. Since discovering this, she has worked diligently to inform taxpayers of this fallacy and work to change it. She requested an Attorney General Opinion, who affirmed the calculation. Since then, she has spoken to the legislators in Frankfort and is currently on the committee to draft a bill to address these issues.

Session 4) 10th Amendment – Mike Maharrey
In the Tenth Amendment Center breakout session, we will take an in depth look at what the Constitution’s framers actually had to say about the relationship between federal and state power, at the historical precedent for states nullifying unconstitutional federal acts and at the present day “Tenther” movement, focusing on the fact that those advocating state sovereignty actually lie in the mainstream of political from a historical perspective. We will also discuss some practical things you can do to further the cause of state’s rights.

Mike Maharrey is the Kentucky chapter coordinator for the Tenth Amendment Center, a national think tank educating and advocating for the preservation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the promotion of liberty. Mike works as a journalist and has covered state and local politics for several publications in both Kentucky and Florida.

Room 2 (Beowulf) Faith & Heritage

Session 1) Faith of Our Fathers – Don Pinson

During 1740 – 1780 men like George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards spurred the first great awakening and shaped the people that we know as our founding fathers. See not only how Faith and God influenced our heritage but how we are a Christian Nation and both Faith and the beginning of our nation can not be separated.

Don Pinson is a minister who, over the last forty years, has served as a Pastor, Evangelist, and Counselor. He currently is a policy analyst and serves as President of Heritage Ministries of Kentucky. Heritage Ministries seeks to restore Biblical understanding in the educational, economic and governmental realms through seminars, revival meetings, a radio and television ministry called Think About It, Christian History Tours, Children’s Heritage Days, and other means. He resides in Clay Co., Ky. with his wife of 37 years, Vickie, and daughter, Christ is Joy, who tutors a Christian homeschool and also teaches art from a Biblical perspective.

Session 2) The Greatest Document Ever: Declaration of Independence – Rick Treitz“We hold these truths to be self-evident…
the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God…
endowed by their Creator...
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...

Everyone is familiar with these phrases. There is a great deal of interest of late about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This is a good thing. But just how much in-depth knowledge is there of America’s founding precepts? We love our freedom, but many have little understanding from whence it comes. America’s Founding Charter – the Declaration of Independence – is greatest document expounding the principles of civil government ever penned by the hand of man. Some might even say divinely inspired. Come dive in and gain a deeper appreciation for the birth of the greatest nation on earth.

Rick Treitz is with The Heartland Tea Party and has spoken at numerous rallies and educational seminars. He has become an expert on the America’s founding chapter and role of religion and principles of liberty.

Session 3) Restore Our Families – Richard Nelson
Examination of the legislative process and how best to mobilize and sustain a grassroots movement for social, moral, and value issues. We will look at recent issues such as gambling, pro life, and other family value orientated legislation and what was a success and how it may be duplicated.

Richard Nelson has worked as a policy analyst with The Family Foundation of Kentucky since 1997. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin –Stevens Point in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in triple majors of Biology, Resource Management and Wildlife Management. He then graduated with a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Regent University in 1995. His experience includes employment with Pro-Life Wisconsin as a project director and fundraiser; research assistant in the Wisconsin State Legislature and policy analyst for The Family Research Institute of Wisconsin. He currently resides in Cadiz with his wife Kari and four children.

Session 4) How We Appoint Our Senators - Norm Davis
Dealing with the 17th Amendment and why we need to repeal it. The 17th Amendment has in effect destroyed "states rights". To regain these rights we need the legislatures of the states to appoint the Senators as the 'Founding Fathers' originally placed in the Constitution and for the very reasoning they had at that time. This will take 15 minutes and then I would like to just show some forms we use to help be organized. I will have copies for those that want them if you will kindly let me know how many will be in attendance.

Norm Davis heads the Take Back Kentucky organization, which is one of the most effective statewide coalitions in the nation. He has led workshops in several states, and has developed an organizational plan of action that has yielded positive results time and time again, in the Kentucky Legislature.

Half day session repeated in the afternoon

Making of America Highlights (This is the exciting exploration which Jefferson, Adams, Franklin , Washington and others made in order to rediscover the key to the creation of the first free nation in modern times. We trace their adventure from 1400 B.C. to A.D. 1787)

NCCS are a tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation funded by thousands of patriotic Americans who believe this country needs the message we're disseminating. They are an educational foundation, not a lobbying group or political action committee, although they urge their supporters to be actively involved in political issues and campaigns at every level of government. National Center for Constitutional Studies (NCCS) firmly believe it's possible to save the Constitution, but we believe it can be saved only by an enlightened citizenry who have the knowledge and commitment to abide by its precepts and safeguard its original purity. This is why the American people must have an opportunity to learn the truths on which our nation was founded. Never has there been a more urgent need for this kind of education-and that's precisely why NCCS was created.

Bill Norton has been volunteering with the National Center for Constitutional Studies, or NCCS, for 8 years updating educational material related to the Constitution. He has been a presenter for the organization for 3 years. He was briefly mentored by Dr. W. Cleon Skousen, founder of NCCS, and Earl Taylor JR., the current president of NCCS. Breakout Sessions Lunch & Dinner – (Stuart)

Lunch Key Note - Sheriff Richard Mack

Popularly known as Sheriff Mack is a well known spokesman in the liberty movement. Sheriff Mack has authored books relating to gun ownership and the role that law enforcement should play in America. He currently speaks at seminars on constitutional issues relating to gun control, law enforcement, States' rights, and the oath of office. He received national attention in Mack v. United States (later restyled to Printz v. United States) in his tenure as a local sheriff for opposition to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act on the basis that it is unconstitutional due to congressional action to compel state officers to execute Federal law. You can find out more about Sheriff Mack at his web site (http://sheriffmack.com).

Banquet Dinner - Harald Zieger

Born in 1954, Harald was raised in East-Germany and was fully indoctrinated in the communistic brainwashing system. Although the overall scientific education was great, he found it very strict and authoritarian. At 16 years old, Harald was a strong communist. At 22, he met his wife and she brought him to Christ. He was 26 when he finished his Masters degree in electronic engineering, by which time he had two children. Harald was 31 when he could finally leave East Germany. He managed manufacturing divisions in multi million dollar corporations. Since, then, he has formed companies from nothing into success. He finally fulfilled his dream by starting his own business here in the United States. He is now afraid that his dream may become a nightmare as this country slips into the trappings of the failed political positions he left behind in East and West Germany. Harald loves this country and the people and although he sees how irresponsible politics may be beginning to destroy the hard work of generations, he still believes it is the best country on God’s Earth.

Banquet Dinner Key Note - L. Brent Bozell III

Founder and President of the Media Research Center, L. Brent Bozell III runs the largest media watchdog organization in America. Kentucky State Sovereignty Resolution

Kentucky State Sovereignty Resolution
""The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” -- Tenth Amendment, U.S. Constitution

Before there were ever a federal government there were sovereign individual states. Our Constitution was comprised of these states coming together and merely providing a contract between those states for their common good. This was highlighted and articulated in what we read in the 10th amendment. Hence that is why we have became the United States, why we are a republic, and why we are citizens of the Common Wealth of Kentucky. It is my assertion that not only we the people need reminded of these facts but our elected officials need constant reminding as well. We need to jog the memories of our representatives that we are in fact a sovereign state. We need to stand up for the 10th amendment of the United States that affirms this and protects us against the oppression and intrusion of bad policies from the federal government. Our state needs to be once again our first line of defense against unfunded mandates and unconstitutional policies and we need to put the over reaching federal government on notice to leave us alone.

Although such resolutions by themselves would not solve the problem of a federal government which dominates and bankrupts the states by ignoring the Constitution's provisions, these Tenth Amendment resolutions can serve as steppingstones to further state and federal legislation to restore the proper balance of power between the states and the federal government. Kentucky needs to once again be one of the first to pass this or a similar resolution. We need to show that citizens of this common wealth bow to no one, including the federal government.

Healthcare Reform

Public Option Health Care

"Obama and ACORN are hoping that people will be distracted with summer activities, and forget to keep up the fight against his single-payer health care bill. As he shuttles between PR addresses with Blue Dog states and the AMA, ACORN has already run a PR campaign of rallies for Obama's single-payer system, aka, government rationed health care! On June 24th Obama is using the state media to advertise his plan and on the 25th a big astro-turfed rally is scheduled at the Washington Monument, to demonstrate to Americans how happy they are about the whole idea!

Here is the truth:
- Medicare for all will create shortages in health care services, forcing providers to ration care and increase wait times for patients (12-18 month average wait in Canada)

-Currently, Americans do not pay taxes on employer provided health insurance benefits. I you have health insurance through your company, you are about to be taxed on those plans. The Government will require all Americans to have health insurance and will impose FINES on those who do not.

-The REAL GOAL: Government insurance seeks to eventually squeeze out and eliminate private health insurance companies, forcing Americans to rely on government rationed health care.

-The Government will have access and control over your health records, intruding into the privacy and confidentiality of the doctor/patient relationship.

-The current Medicare and Medicaid programs are flawed and full of corruption. What will happen when we add another 100 million Americans to the program?

-The President’s current plan will add another TRILLION dollars to the deficit, and many economists say that’s low. Another program on an already strained economy will bankrupt the country.

-How will Congress pay for their new plans? TAXES. The President said during his campaign that 95% of Americans would receive a tax cut. Yet he and his party are preparing to increase taxes on everything from sugar to electricity, as well as creating new taxes like the Value Added Tax.

-No one in the country is currently denied access to healthcare, so exactly why is the President rushing his plan for socialized medicine without thoughtful debate and consideration? There are in fact several very good health care reforms that would lower the cost of health care thereby making it more accessible to everyone.

-Socialized health care will end research for cures due to cost. Doctors will be retire early to escape the tyranny and thereby increasing wait time for treatment.

-Government controlled health care takes the decision making out of the hands of individuals and doctors and puts it in the hands of politicians and lawyers. If a government committee decides that your treatment isn’t “cost effective” and denies your care, what legal recourse will you have? NONE

56 Re Founders

This country had 56 founders — 56 brave, good, decent human beings. That's all it took, why should it be any different today to take the country back? Where are the statesmen today where are those men and women of character that put country first. That is why Glenn and all of us are looking for: 56 brave men and women out of the 535 in Congress today. Fifty-six "re-founders" to stand up to the corruption and the special interests in your own party. Stand up to what Washington, D.C. has become.

We must keep the pressure on our elected officials and make sure they do not do another single legislation. We must keep calling and writing and let them know STOP! Stop taking away our liberties, stop spending our children and grandchildren’s money, and stop with any more legislation that chips away at our Constitution. But we must also support those that are willing to come out and fight with us. We must show our support to anyone that be willing to do the right thing in these most difficult times. Help us find the 56 men or women that are brave enough to go against the media, go against Obama, and go against their own party and willing to do the right thing. Let them know they have your support.

This is far beyond any ( R ) or ( D ) we are looking for people of principle and will. If any will fight with us, we will fight for them. Send them letters, send them support. It is time we expose the lies from the inside. Call on your representative to do the right thing. We need more Joe Wilson’s.

If you know of any or you are a refounder and want to contact Glenn please your identity will remain anonymous. Glenn Beck wants potential 'Refounders' to contact him at refounders@foxenews.com

The real environmentalist

Can you tell which of these is the photo after a liberal gathering and which one is following conservatives? Who has real respect for not only our country but the environment?

Official Count 9/12 March on Wasington (according to math)

Using the available photos along with some satellite images of where the crowd had congregated I have developed some rough estimates of what our crowd size may have been.

For the tech heads or for those monitoring and wondering how these numbers came to fruition here is the technical portion; for all others you may want to skip ahead a paragraph. The model I used is a type of “piecewise linear approximation”. This allows us to formulate an equation of crowd density of a per person, per square feet, per vector based on the primary assumption of a linear disbursement from an epicenter which in our case was the main stage. Basically we would have close to 1 person per 1.8sq feet at or directly around the stage and the crowd disburse to approx 1 person per 4sq feet at .7 mile from the stage.

Using the images available we have approximated the crowd stretched just over .7 mile and overflowed the capitol lawn and down some of the side streets. With all of these assumptions our estimates are about 280,000 on the capitol lawn, 887,000 off the lawn and stretching down the street for almost ¾ mile, and another 77,000 – 89,000 outside of the vectors we measured or down adjacent side streets. This brings the total to 1.25 million. Not quite the 1.8 or 2 million some are hoping but FAR more than the 75,000 or ten’s of thousands others may hold on to as well.

Bottom line, still a number that can no longer be ignored. Taking this formula one step further as we go 500 miles away from the heart of the march in DC to back here in Kentucky we would still have 1 person for every 1,100 sq feet filling the state with over 200,000 more fired up patriots right here in the Bluegrass that could not make the trip. As we continue across America we pick up millions and millions more that think and feel as we do but made their voices heard back in their homes. This is much more now than just seeing that we are not alone, we have come together in a historic moment and made our voice heard.

President Obama, Congress, Senators, Republicans and Democrats CAN YOU HERE US NOW!!.

Now I know what it means to be an American!

by Kimberly Moore

One of the greatest freedoms we have in America is the freedom to vote and elect people into the Senate, Congress, and as President. I’ve voted ever since 1992 which was the first time I was old enough to vote. Being a college student and having liberal ideas, my first vote was for Bill Clinton. Yeah, I know. I’ve become more educated since my early voting years.

Since Barack Obama was elected President, I’ve never been more fearful for the future of the United States. What makes me fearful isn’t the fact that he was the most liberal Senator in U.S. history, but more so by the ideologies he has, he who has chosen to associate himself with, and who he considers being people of influence. Socialists, Marxists and Communists are labels of people that he either refers to as being a major influence on his life or people that he surrounds himself with currently. Put all politics aside and anyone who knows the history of how countries who were once a democratic society became communist or socialist will tell you that the beginning of turning a country upside down begins with someone who is a suave speaker with radical ideas.

On Saturday, September 12, 2009, I had an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I, along with millions of Conservative Americans gathered on Constitution Ave. in Washington, D.C. and marched to the White House to declare our disgust of taxes, corrupt government, and unconstitutional decisions made by President Obama and leaders of the Democratic Party.

The main stream media may not report the protest in a responsible manner, but I know what it was like to see people as far as the eyes could see. I know what it was like to meet people from all across the country and know we had one thing in common: we love the U.S.A. The numbers of who attended will vary from 60,000 to over 2 million, but that doesn’t matter to me. What matters is the future of America. What matters is the future of our children living in a free country. What matters is fiscal responsibility and personal accountability of all.

Many Americans exercised their First Amendment right on September 12, 2009. We held signs, chanted “USA!”, and listened to speakers for several hours encouraging us to take our country back. Our nation is under attack from within and I’ve had enough. The least I could do was let my voice be heard and to be a part of something so much bigger than myself. Because of this experience, I know what it is like to be an American and I will not be silent anymore!

How Many Marched on DC 9/12?

I at least count 20 or 30..........

We walked the 1/4 mile from the Capitol to Freedom Plaza and the Washington Monument again later that night when the hustle and bustle of DC resumed. It was equally amazing walking the side walks later that day seeing 7 lanes of traffic for 14 blocks and remembering we were shoulder to shoulder stretched across all 7 lanes for the entire ¼ mile just hours before. Above is the time lapse photography of “part” of the March. Count for yourself but even though I ran out of fingers and toes at tens of thousands I see hundreds of thousands in these photos alone. Add to this the hundreds of thousands that already gathered beginning at 7:00am in the morning at the Capitol. Add to that the hundreds of thousands that didn’t join the march and but were present at the rally or stayed at the end of the procession at Freedom Plaza. And to that the thousands more that at 1:00pm were still attempting to get into Washington but due to the overload of their infrastructure were unable to make it into the march until later. Add these estimates of 1.2 to over 2 million will be realized.

Our 9/12 March on Washington

By Lisa Abler
9/12/09 10:03 p.m.

I believe I speak for many as I sit in my hotel room: the march on Washington was a success, and an experience of a lifetime. Since we have been out all day, and most of the news coverage may run the gamut,I thought I'd share some of my experiences today.

A festive atmosphere abounded with a sense of camaraderie as the hundreds of groups gathered to converge at Freedom Plaza this morning. At least that was our goal, but as we approached the turn onto Pennsylvania Avenue which led to our destination, we encountered a human dam. A vast sea of patriots lined the street and sidewalks for as long as we could see. The tide eventually rolled down the artery leading to the heart of our problems these days - Capitol Hill.

The spirited procession provided entertainment and encouragement. A multitude of creative signs bobbed up and down like horses on a carousel, and various chants sprouted from the deluge, some led by the youngest flag-wavers there. The legion necessitated a crawling gait which we didn't mind; everyone was taking in the enormity of the day that was unfolding. The hope of 3, maybe 400,000 people seemed very possible.

As the dome of Capitol Hill came into full focus, so did the depth of the crowd. It was a joke to hear rumors of some news reports that merely "10's of thousands had gathered". We soon heard that the park police had estimated 1.5 million at that point. I've never experienced such a colossal assemblage before. So many people with a common set of goals: freedom, liberty, and putting an end to the corruption in Washington. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians - they were all there.

For hours, speakers, soloists, rappers and fellow friendly protesters maintained an elevated pitch of cheers and jeers from the Capitol steps to the Washington monument. Only once was there a tense moment, when a sizable "public option" sign emerged. Ushering him down the hill, the amoeba-like group of people surrounding the sign bearer showed their disagreement with his stance quite firmly, until a group of police escorted him away from the event...after all, he had constructed his sign using PVC piping - strictly prohibited. All other encounters of the day were informative, inspiring, and encouraging. Even the train of port-a-potties with lines snaking back for yards, and waits surpassing 30 minutes, was a source of great conversation, and new found friendships, full of well wishes for safe travels, and great ideas to keep the momentum going once we returned home. This was truly the 9/12 spirit.

Words cannot capture the experience had by all today. This tiny sample is meant to give you a peek into the many stories that will emerge from our experience. My hope is that everyone will connect with those who weren't able to go, and vice versa so that the current of energy flows through 100 fold, and we continue to awaken and know that we are not alone.

The Great Indoctrination of September 8th

By Lisa Abler
12:30 pm 9/4/09

Summer is almost over, and the slightly crisp mornings suggest autumn's approach. School buses are whizzing by each morning to remind us that we are settling into a new school year. Let's not settle, instead we need to awaken.

The historical beginnings of our public educational system originated in the Massachusetts Bay Colony with a series of laws. A centerpiece of legislation during these new beginnings was the "Old Deluder Satan Law" of 1647. This law was enacted to help ensure that children in this budding colony were equipped for productive lives which would be rooted in the ability to read, write, and understand Scripture. This knowledge would help, they believed, young men and women to recognize the "false glosses of saint-seeming deceivers". The government held strongly to the idea that learning to read Scripture and write was essential and empowering, as opposed to the mere act of attending school.

As the controversy of the presedential address directed to children in American public schools on September 8th emerges in news stories, the idea of empowering our children with literacy and the ability to think, reason and discern should be of the utmost importance. Buried in this contention is the usual tactic of distraction. People are arguing over the content of the president's speech. The real discord lies in the fact that children of all ages in this country have blatantly become subjects of the Obama regime. Set aside the message. Look at the unadorned truth of this scheme: our children are being trained to listen to our president and positively respond to his message through their thoughts and actions. It has been reported that though some parents want to attend this viewing with their children at their schools, it is "not the policy" of some schools to allow parents to be present. Piece things together: leadership speaking to impressionable children, some teachers possibly supporting and nuturing this idea through discussions and assignments, and no parent participation allowed...simply insidious!

Recall the original reasoning of the colonists in legislating a requiremnt for education. It was to ensure that children would have the tools for success as young adults in society through literacy and the ability to write so as to guard them from being deluded by those who may have wished to mislead them. Education has evolved into the very people from which our children were meant to be protected. We need to awaken to the fact that "false glosses of saint-seeming deceivers" abound in the education system today. The idea that our children need to be protected from saint-seeming deceivers in Washington is not preposterous, it's reality. The threat is real, and those dispensing it are sly and deceptive. Be vigilant, and demand that education be that which is pure and good for our children. They should be learning how to read good literature and write effectively. They should be learning about science and mathematics. They should be learning the real and complete history and foundation of our great nation, and also true morals. They should learn how to think and reason so that they can recognize deception when they see it.

No doubt, there are many genuine, gifted, caring teachers in our public school systems who truly want to educate our children. For them, I am grateful. However, there are some schools and teachers who are in lockstep with the national agenda. It is our job to let them know that they work for us; our children are by no means any kind of back door for their political agenda.
