I was first in line to speak with Darryl Owens and I was ashamed to see an elected representative of the people of Kentucky behave in such an arrogant and decidedly non-representative manner toward his constituents. His dismissive disdain for us was obvious. I knew he didn't support the legislation and I assumed he'd finally be forced to see us after dodging our repeated calls and attempts to schedule a meeting, but I was very surprised that Owens committed political suicide by behaving in such a shameful manner. His self inflicted perp walk is going on YouTube for all to see. All we wanted was a minute of his time as he was walking to his next appointment. All we wanted was a modicum of courtesy and civility, and we were denied even that. I wish there was a decent opposition candidate running against Owens this year. He needs to go, and yesterday isn't soon enough.
