The Evils of Coal

By Randy Walters

This past Sunday’s Lexington Herald Leader Newspaper reported again that Kentucky was suffering as a result of coal. In fact, the article said Kentucky spent more on coal associated programs than it took in on taxes from the industry. The lie they are telling is that the only taxes the government receives is from the coal industry itself. They never mention the taxes paid by all the service industries in the coalfields, or the businesses in the coalfields which would not exist without coal.

Would a total economic collapse of eastern Kentucky cost the state? In the eyes of the environmentalist followers it would not. Would middle and lower income Kentuckians suffer from higher power bills if coal was shut down in eastern Kentucky ?

The answers to those questions are so obvious it makes one wonder about the agenda of the people who claim to care about the earth. What about the families they would inflict great suffering upon were they to have their way?

The lives of the people do not matter to the voices who wish to shut down the coal industry. The Lexington Herald Leader, MACED, and all the other groups are willing to lie, juggle numbers, and tell the gullible citizenry anything they can come up with in order to assert their demands on our society.

The papers along with the three major networks have given those people the voice as if they were the majority. It’s the same practice as the Obama Administration’s use of the AMA as an endorsement of the healthcare bill when they actually represent less than one third of the doctors in the country.

Thomas Jefferson saw the possibility for just such damage to our nation and it caused him to write the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution which limited the power of the federal government in the states. It’s a powerful amendment, and if honored by the states can change the direction in which we are headed, socialism.

This February will see a great example of democracy at work in Frankfort . Thousands will gather at the state’s capital to address issues such as coal, gambling, state’s rights, and several other family oriented issues. These issues will be the focus.

The legislators who do not submit to the demands of the people will pay the price. They will be the targets, within their own districts, of a growing movement of Kentuckians. Kentuckians of faith, means, and determination will guide them down the path of democracy, or down the road to home.

The rally is scheduled for Saturday, February 20th so as to allow as many people who wish to attend. Notice will be given if there is any change, and you will be hearing more about it in the coming weeks.
If you want to see our miners continue to work, and our state to be able to stand up for its own rights, please make plans to be there.

August 28 Glenn Beck Washington DC

Message from Glenn Beck-

"On August 28, 2010, I ask you, your family and neighbors to join me at the feet of Abraham Lincoln on the National Mall for the unveiling of The Plan and the birthday of a new national movement to restore our great country.

And then on August 28th write this down in your calendar because this will be most likely the last large gathering on the mall in Washington, D.C. August 28th, I ask you to meet me. Take your family. We move we had something planned. We moved it to August 28th because I wanted your family to be able to be there and your family not in school, et cetera, et cetera. So come to the feet of Abraham Lincoln on August 28th. By that time I hope to have enough things out there that you will at least have some teeth to the so the politicians will see you and hear you and fear you! The reason why I say I think it’s going to be the last large gathering on the mall is because our government has decided that there will be no more gatherings, large gatherings on the mall with Abraham Lincoln and the Lincoln Memorial as of 2011. This will be historic. In the meantime piece by piece, little by little I’m developing this plan, and I will explain more to you a little later. It’s not something I take lightly. It is not something that is something I can whip out. But two can play at this game, and I’ll give you more details as things continue. But I want you to know we are all stewards of this country, and I take my stewardship of my part of the republic seriously, and I take your faith in me extraordinarily seriously."

On August 28, 2010 come be a part of history by joining Glenn at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for the Restoring Honor Rally. Boston Tea Party

I am basking in last night's victory in Massachusetts - a state that Obama won by 25.8% (61.8% of the popular vote compared to McCain's 35.99%). What a difference a year makes!

When we marched on Washington they called us an angry mob. When we showed up at townhalls all across the country they called us racists and political terrorists. When we defeated them at the voting booth in New Jersey, Virginia and now Massachusetts they point fingers at their weak candidates and blame Republicans for being obstructionists. They refuse to believe that Americans do not want a far left (and might I add, radical) agenda. They don't understand that we are mad as Hell at these politicians who for the last several decades have spent and borrowed this country to the brink of economic ruin. Do they see now that 'We the People' can set aside blind loyalty to a party and do what we think is best for America?

Next comes the real test for Obama...does he change course and try to govern from the center or does he try to ramrod his agenda through by any means possible? I fear he will do the latter and then that's when the real Revolution begins. He is a Progressive and they have been waiting decades for this moment to "fundamentally transform America". Beware - they will not go quietly into the night. Amnesty will be next on their agenda.

Make your voices heard and keep the momentum rolling!!! Get involved any way you can...in elections, in the schools, in the media. Let's take our country back and get back to common sense governing. Now that's change I can believe in!!!

When the leaves turn green

By Randy Walters

Coal Miners are a special breed of people. They are God fearing patriotic people who respect tradition and live the culture the Treehuggers say we have to protect. They work long hours under hundreds of feet of rock, or on top of a mountain in a piece of equipment that could carry them to their death in the valley below. When not working they live, as the rest of us in the mountains do, in a harsh environment that is foreign to most Americans. Even with the hardships it is only seldom that any of us leave, and don’t come back. There’s a kinship here that outweighs the burdens, and that kinship is being threatened.

Now they go to work everyday with the fear of hearing their bosses tell them they will no longer be needed. Sending their children to college, paying medical bills, or being able to afford a small vacation could all be cancelled at the stroke of a pen. An agency such as the EPA at the direction of the current administration with much fanfare from the environ-mentalists could change everything.

The environ-mentalists are wasting no time and no opportunity to create havoc in the coalfields by having law suits filed, protesting mining operations, and using media outlets such as the ever so environ-mental Lexington Herald Leader to voice their one-sided ignorant opinions.

They hate the fact that we use previously mined land for things like hospitals, schools, shopping centers, neighborhoods, industrial sites, parks, golf courses, hunting in places where wildlife did not previously flourish, and many other impractical uses such as gated communities. Yet their voices are heard the loudest. Their causes are given the most consideration and are encouraged by the Obama administration, and the lives of the people of eastern Kentucky are never taken into consideration. What it all boils down to us a failure by state and federal government in honoring the wishes of the people. The people want cheap electricity, jobs, lower taxes, and prosperity. Coal provides those things, but the government and the environ-mentalists don’t want coal.

There’s an old saying in the mountains the Treehuggers should know. “Wait till the trees turn green.” Mountain people have been defending themselves and surviving since their Scotch-Irish ancestors came here to get away from the likes of you.

As for the government we can only hope that enough Americans will wake up to hear their nation crying. We can only pray that enough Americans will show up to join efforts such as 912, and the soon to be formed “Restore America ” movement of Pastor Jeff Fugate in Lexington . We pray for enough patriots to dry the tears and take away the pain of a nation God intended to be blessed.
