The Sad Reality About the Recent Environmental Disaster

The most recent environmental disaster has been devastating news for everyone at the forefront of the green movement. For all that have fought so hard to protect Mother Earth from its attacks by its enemy of man. To those that have worked tearlessly giving their lifestyles to reverse Global Warming and their hearts to this cause. Everyday you hear the news and see the pictures on TV and I understand the painful emotions that must come from such horrific images.

I know it was excruciating to watch but now the true story of this disaster is coming to light. Yes the current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since it first started spewing volcanic ash, has to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet. Not only that, this single act of God has added emissions to the earth estimated to be 420 times more than can be corrected by any of the current proposed regulations.

This is hard on all of us to know and now realize but all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV, going on vacation to a city park instead of Yosemite, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your $1 light bulbs with $10 light bulbs ...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just the past few weeks.

I'm so sorry. And I do wish that there was some kind of a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that all the work you and others have done in the name of Global Warming has truly gone up in smoke.

Carbon Regime - Action Needed

Last Thursday with little fanfare, Obama's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it would impose a new rule regarding greenhouse gases that will impact 15,000 businesses beginning July of next year. This is the first step to full-scale implementation of the Carbon Tax through the EPA -- without needing even one vote in Congress.

The EPA's announcement came immediately after Senators Liebermann and Kerry announced their new Cap and Trade bill -- and the timing is no coincidence...

The EPA rule imposing the Carbon Regime is designed to force Congress to pass the Cap and Trade legislation which would be viewed by members of Congress as preferable to having the EPA seize control of the entire energy sector without a vote in Congress.

Unless challenged, the EPA’s climate change ruling would create a “Carbon Police” force controlled by unelected, entrenched bureaucrats, and overseen by President Obama. Putting the EPA ruling into effect
would devastate our already shaky economy.

Key members of the Senate are challenging the EPA ruling with a resolution to disapprove the EPA’s actions (SJ Res. 26). The vote for this resolution is expected to come BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY, and must be won!

****ACTION NEEDED: Write, call or fax senators either directly or through their websites. ****

Let them know:

WE DON’T WANT A CARBON POLICE FORCE!

and URGE them to support Senator Murkowski’s resolution of disapproval (S.J. 26) that would prevent the EPA from becoming the Carbon Police!

“Tea Party” candidate - Kentucky Election Results

By Eric Wilson

We are in a battle for our freedoms and voice. We are fighting politics as usual and bringing power back to the people. You will here a lot about Dr Rand Paul and the “Tea Party” victory. I am not taking anything away from his significant primary win and it is great to have a candidate that shares the fiscal values and smaller government mentality of the liberty movement. In this war though there are other soldiers that may need recognized and are as much a “Tea Party” candidate.

There are many stories of average patriots that ran for office this year. One of them ran in KY House District 62. This was a man who attended tea parties not as a speaker or organizer but just another face in the crowd waving his “don’t tread on me” flag. As a 9/12er he attended every monthly meeting, went to the Making of America seminar, educated himself, and founded himself and family in principles and values. When the need arose he stepped up and made the trip to Washington DC twice (once for Healthcare the other on 9/12) to be part of the voice of regular Americans and send a message in our Capital. He was motivated and the things he did were never because it was politically calculated but because in his heart it was what was right for himself, his family, and this nation.

It was after the 9/12 trip to Washington DC that I sent out a letter encouraging people not stop and become more active. I asked people to start blogging, start talking to their neighbors, and if complied run for a local office. He toke me serious and decided to run for KY House of Representatives. This was not a spontaneous decision on his part though. He had considered this before and was in deep prayer about it before ultimately deciding to put himself and more significantly his family through an election. But he did, not out of political aspirations, but because of inspiration and passion for our State and this Country.

He soon found himself in a contested Republican primary against a candidate groomed for this moment by the establishment. For the first time he was no longer just a bystander but was actually running against the party he was a member of. He was out spent, he was running not only against his opponent but well connected insiders, and he did not have any political strategist advising his campaign. No he had never wanted to run for office and knew nothing about politicking. He did not know politics but he knew relationships and principles. So for 5 months he went out knocking on doors 1 at a time and personally asked for a vote. He stood strong in principle, worn his heart on his sleeve, and did things the only way he knew how.

On May 18th sadly he was defeated in a close race in the 62nd district. I will not say his dream came to an end because this was not a dream. I will not say this was a lost for a “tea party” candidate either because an average electrician that never was even active before not only woke up but tried to do something about the problems and run against politics as usual. This is a testament to our cause, this is spirit of our movement, this is about ordinary men fighting here in our small towns for our liberties and voice, THIS IS THE “Tea Party” candidate!

To his family I thank you for supporting him; to Ricky Hostetler candidate for 62nd district I am proud of you. And to him and all the other candidates who ran not because they may have wanted to but knew they needed to; we salute you.

Glenn Beck 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally in Washington DC

The Kentucky 9/12 Project and Glenn Beck wants you!!!

Come join Glenn and the KY 9/12 and support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. on August 28, 2010 for the Restoring Honor Rally. This non-political, non-partisan event will recognize our First Amendment rights and honor the service members who fight to protect those freedoms.

This is not actually a tea party but more like a revival. We are not going to Washington for a revolution but to restoration. Politics is not the name of the day on August 28th and neither are particular issues. This is about fixing ourselves — not about fixing politics. It’s about learning about where we’ve come from, reflecting on those things, then choosing to do the RIGHT thing based upon the Principles that we hold dear. It’s about each of us, individually, making choices that reflect the Principles and Values that we live by.

This is guaranteed to be part of the history books and a once in a lifetime experience for many of us. You must consider joining us and yes a million other patriots as we gather in Washington on 8/28 to make a difference and restore honor to this nation!!

Audit The Fed Update

By Bruce Layne:

The Federal Reserve was created in 1913 and has never been audited. The Fed was ostensibly created to stabilize the US economy, and their two primary functions were to ensure full employment and prevent inflation. The real rate of unemployment that includes people who are able to work but prefer government assistance and those who have been unemployed so long they've given up is approximately 20%, and the purchasing power of our dollar has decreased to three cents during the century that The Fed has been in operation. The Fed hasn't eliminated unemployment or even decreased it, and has caused inflation by keeping interest rates artificially low which results in a short term false sense of prosperity that is equivalent to running up credit card debt for our children to pay. The recent housing bubble crash, credit crisis, Wall Street bailouts and nationalizing GM and AIG are all the result of The Fed causing a problem and then creating money out of thin air to paper over their problem, thus causing an even larger problem.

The recent economic problems strongly indicate that The Fed is failing at their primary missions, and have resulted in the political will to open the books of The Fed so we can see what they've been doing. HR 1207 is an unusually short bill that was introduced by Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) into the House on February 26th 2009 to provide for a complete and ongoing Federal Reserve audit by the Comptroller General of the United States. It gained 319 cosponsors, including all six Kentucky congressmen, and eventually passed as amendments in the House Financial Services Committee and in the House. The companion bill, S 604 was introduced into the Senate by Bernie Sanders (I-VT). There has been strong public support for auditing The Fed, but DC has largely stonewalled those efforts. The Fed took the unprecedented step of hiring the public relations consultant who previously worked for Enron.

Recent Developments: Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) and a few other Fed-loving senators rewrote the Senate version of the Financial Reform Bill to strip out the audit provisions and instead give The Fed more power. Senator Sanders (I-VT) introduced a floor amendment to reinstate the audit provisions, but later withdrew that amendment after being pressured by The Fed and the Obama administration. The bill with the pro-Fed provisions passed 96-0 on May 11th, 2010. Senator David Vitter (R-LA) attempted to reinsert the stronger audit provisions, but that amendment was defeated 62-37 on May 11th, 2010. Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) voted for Vitter's amendment to reinstate the audit provisions, and Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) voted against it.
