On 8/28 an estimated 750,000 to over 1 million people gathered at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to honor our heritage, honor or soldiers, and honor our heroes. Themes of faith, hope, and charity resonated throughout the Restoring Honor Rally highlighted the beginnings of the great American experiment of freedom and a faith in God that makes nations that seek Him strong.

This was not a tea party, it was not a political rally, it was not about the color of our skin but it was about the content of our character, it was about Restoring Honor.

This weekend we came back together to see that we are not alone; and left inspired and revived. Although this was not a march or protest either the sound that you may hear is the steps of a movement that will not be held back. From this weekend we have begun the next steps to Restore Honor, Restore Our Churches, Restore Our Family, and Restore Our Communities.

The media really doesn’t know what to make of this weekend and to be honest it may take a few days for everything to settle in for each of us as well. There has never been an event like this before on the Mall in DC and most likely will never be another again in our lifetime. It was 2/3 church service, 2/3 military honor, 2/3 history lesson, 2/3 heroes, and 100% inspirational. There was honesty of who we were and are and a calling for who we should be. For those that were not there, you may never understand what this weekend was, for those of us that went we may never forget what we shared.

What an amazing weekend; one filled with inspiration, excitement, and restoration. For us the night before was extra special. Words can not describe the humbling honor in the national recognition that Kentucky received.
The Kentucky 9/12 Project received national attention with the ‘Constitutional Defenders Award for individuals or groups that have gone above and beyond in educating, protecting, or upholding the Constitutional principles’. We shared the stage with only 3 others award recipients, Glenn Beck, Yvonne Donnelly, and Katy Abram. I was truly honored and even more so humbled that we were recognized in the company of these people of true honor.
At the same time there is a strong since of pride and understanding why Kentucky was singled out from all of the 9/12 groups from around the nation. We are the innovators and inspirations for so many others. So many times we have become the trend setters and the model for groups to follow. We have many successes such as Vacation Liberty School, Candlelight vigils, local meetups, organization of national events, and countless other pioneering programs and events.
As I said in the interviews I did later, this is a testament to the great people of Kentucky. This was not any one individual’s award, but we share this honor and acknowledgment. This is to everyone that has worked with us or behind the scenes waking their neighbors up, laying the foundation or principles and values, and educating others of our heritage and where we are going. This was as much you as any of us. My sincere tears in accepting this national award was with each and every one of you standing behind us.

Pro-coal rally in Washington D.C. September 15, 2010 Russell Park on Capitol Hill.
Participants coming from Appalachian Coal states to celebrate Coal Mining. The gathering will celebrate the American coal miner. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with supporters attending from West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Ohio.
"Coal is vital to all Kentuckians, especially in regards to the low-cost power it provides us. When the EPA and this administration targets Appalachian coal, it hurts everyone here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” said Bill Bissett, president of the Kentucky Coal Association. “On September 15, we need to make our voices heard - at the White House, in Congress, and throughout our nation's capitol that we will not sit quietly by while the federal government devastates Kentucky families and jobs. Less than 2 weeks from our historic trip to DC and the first steps to restore honor and restore our nation. Here are so general information and answers to some questions:
- 9/12 Project Bus Riders Those travel with us on the buses due to anticipated traffic and the need to have everyone in DC by 5:00pm we will be departing at 4:00am on Friday
We will leave from the Marriott Griffin Gate, Newton Pike, Lexington. Yes they are permitting us to park there and it is lighted and they have security. Please be courteous to patrons of the hotel and park at the lower end of the lot near Denny’s
Upon arrival in Washington the coaches will make stops at the hotels where KY 912 has room blocks. Those hotels are: Hilton Garden Inn, Westin, and Marriott Residence Inn. If you are staying at another hotel we will provide metro maps to get you to your destination.
- 9/12 Project Reception Please print out your tickets and bring with you to save time. If you do not have them we do have a complete list and we can still check you in at the door with out problems.
We will begin allowing people in at 5:30pm. The content of the reception will begin at 6:30pm.
We will not permit people with oversize bags. No walkups and you must be registered prior to this event. There will be security present for your protection
If you are traveling separately and planning to try to get tickets to Glenn’s event at the Kennedy Center as well, we have coordinated the two events ahead of time that you can do both.
- Glenn’s event at the Kennedy Center This will be an inspiring look at the role faith played in the founding of America and the role it will play again in its destiny. The audience for the event will be overwhelmingly made up of pastors, ministers and clergy: a modern day Black Robe Regimen. Tickets will be made available to the general public at no cost.
Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets will be made available beginning at 10:00AM on Friday, August 27th in the Hall of Nations at the Kennedy Center. All tickets are free, reserved tickets. Every person (all ages!) is required to have a ticket. Limit 2 tickets per person, no exceptions. Each person must present their own ticket in order to gain access to the event
- 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally The event stage will be located on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Several video screens and sound towers will be placed along the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and on the grounds of the Washington Monument. Remember that these monuments are located in a National Park and are open to the public as well as attendees of our event. Safety for all is our primary concern so please follow all rules posted and be respectful of all in attendance.
The event will begin at 10:00am and go to 1:00pm. There will be a concert free of charge immediately following at the same location for any that want to stay. It is advised that you show up at least a couple of hours early due to crowds.
We are expected over 1 million people in attendance and we have reserved over 1 ½ mile of national grounds for this event. Be prepared
With KY9/12 members in 3 separate hotels, other in multiple other hotels around DC, and with other people driving in or flying logistically with the number of people we have and the massive crowd expected we will not be able to coordinate everyone in a single area or reserve areas for our group. If you do want to find us number to use that weekend will be 859-983-5190 / 859-227-3474 / 859-396-2318
We will try to go to the event by hotel together walking to the event and via the metro. We will be leaving at 7:30am from each of the various locations if you want to travel to the event with the group.
Metro stations open at 7:00 am on weekends. The closest Metro stations to the Lincoln Memorial are Foggy Bottom-GWU, Federal Triangle and Smithsonian on the Orange and Blue lines and Metro Center on the Red Line. The walking distance from there is approx 1 mile.
Taxis will be very hard to find because of the volume of people coming into the city for this event. Taxis will be allowed to drop only as close as the police grant vehicle access to the site, and that is unknown at this time. You might have to walk a distance so be prepared.
- What to bring You can bring small umbrellas, bottled water (plastic bottles only please), bag lunches, snacks, lawn chairs, cameras, blankets, small coolers, backpacks, and flags. Also, we advise that you bring hats and sunscreen.
We expect it to be very hot and humid so please bring sunscreen, water and wear comfortable, lightweight clothes
- What not to bring NO signs (political or otherwise) as they may deter from the peaceful message we are bringing to Washington. Firearms (either real or simulated), no open holsters. Knives, blades, or sharp objects (of any length). Sticks or poles. Large bags (anything larger than a backpack). Animals other than service/guide dogs. Alcoholic beverages

Popularly known as Sheriff Mack is a well known spokesman in the liberty movement. Sheriff Mack has authored books relating states rights, gun ownership, and the role that law enforcement should play in America. He currently speaks at seminars on constitutional issues relating to gun control, States' rights, and the oath of office. He received national attention in Mack v. United States (later restyled to Printz v. United States) in his tenure as a local sheriff for opposition to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act on the basis that it is unconstitutional due to congressional action to compel state officers to execute Federal law. You are naive if you believe the seeds are not being planted. There are dangerous elements on both extremes and some want nothing more than to cause chaos and paint the picture of the narrative they have already created. In these challenging times we must keep focused, remain optimistic, and remember the principles that guide our lives. We need not only do the right thing now more than ever, but we must go above and beyond. This is not for the nay sayers and media because they have their agenda and will not be swayed. This is not for anyone else; you must do this for yourself! While a large non-violent rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial will send a resounding statement, what you do must be for yourself.
Looking at the Pledge Martin Luther King provided I do not believe it was for the press or those that did not understand, it was to ingrain in each who was involved an ideal, goal, and dream. The principles we promote are not for those on the outside to read to better understand who we are but for each of us to embody and follow. Things may get tough in DC and in the months to come, you need a foundation, a belief in your gut of the right thing to do, and a plan when faced with violence or adversity.
~Pray for the right state of mind, for patience and the right words, and pray for the ones that disagree with us as well. This should be done before, during, and after.
~Be optimistic. What we are doing is working, people are listening, America is waking up. The harder it gets the more we know what we are doing is having an effect.
~Non-violence is not the easy way but the right way. Remember as Martin Luther King said we are not seeking to win but justice and reconciliation. This is never accomplished through violence.
~Do not be intimidated and do not unnecessarily intimidate others that disagree with us. Do not back down when you are right but try always to avoid conflict if not needed.
~Be respectful. Remember it is usually not important to the person you are screaming at it is the person watching you scream at them. Besides it is the right thing to do…
~Be orderly and law biding. Chaos only begets chaos. This is used only by those you have no point of order to stand on. We have everything to stand on and stand for.
~Bring cameras, IPhones, anything to record. Be ready quickly if anything does occur to record it to protect the truth.
~Be vigilant and be cautious. Keep up the pressure, keep up the fight, but do not become reckless and do keep up the watchful eye.
~Facts are a beautiful thing even if they never use or agree with them. Name calling, personal attacks, and untruths does not accomplish anything. Be educated, clear, and truthful.
~Do not let the other side frame who we are or what we are doing. We should take little time defending what we are not and spend much time defending what is right.
Follow the link to the Pledge of Nonviolence that Martin Luther King, Jr. asked those who believed in his message to abide by as well as his core principles of nonviolence. Glenn is asking you to make the same commitment to nonviolence and give you the opportunity to make that pledge public by having you ”sign” a pledge.
I promise you do not want to miss this once in a lifetime event in DC. Ever generation has defining moments that alter their path going foreword. It is not an exaggeration that Aug 28th at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial may be that moment. This will be the point that everything changes. It is our choice do we continue down the path we are on or do we take the FIRST STEPS back to restore our nation and restore honor.
We will be coming together again on September 12th for an informal “bring your own” picnic at Talon Winery. This will be the day after the memorial of the 9/11 terrorist attacks when there were no Republicans or Democrats, no right vs. left. We were Americans. Brothers and sisters who were all proud of the red, white, and blue!
In that spirit this will be a non-political event that will pay tribute to all of us that embody our nations founding principles. Leave your signs, pitchforks, and torches at home and bring your blanket, lawn chair, and picnic lunches and enjoy great live entertainment, speakers, share in a special award presentation to a few great patriots and groups, and more importantly have the opportunity to get to know your neighbor and meet other like minded 9/12ers from around the state.
