Flash Mob of Support for Alabama

A week or so ago we were challenged with an idea: a flash mob of kindness that took place around the nation on April 21. These “flash mobs” were 9/12ers, Tea Party members, and individuals that participated in random acts of kindness.

But charity is not a one time event, and when needs arise we must open our hearts, arms, and aid to our brothers and sisters in desperate times. When our neighbors are struggling it is our job to provide charity when it’s needed, have compassion for each other, give hand-up when we can, and most importantly, instill a little hope. THAT TIME IS NOW.

Thank you everyone for your amazing outpouring of support. The spirit of 9/12ers and individuals never stops overwhelming me.

Thanks to you we raised thousands of dollars and was able to help completely fill 3 large POD containers.

They left for Alabama Tuesday at 6:00pm est to give much need help and hope to those devastated by the tornadoes.

For those that still wish to help we encourage you to click the link below and find ways you can help from wherever you are

Let’s make this truly a flash mob of support this weekend. This is a guiding principle and our duty to help our countrymen. Please consider this random act of love for those in need.

Up the Creek but with a Paddle

Thousands of wounded warriors return home to Kentucky after fighting for our liberties. Surviving the war is only half the battle now days for these brave men and women. Many have a greater need for rehabilitation so they can continue to heal physically, psychologically, and socially. This is what TRR is all about and this is why each 9/12er needs to support this program and be part of this event if you are available.

This is their first Fundraising event to introduce Team River Runner Lexington to the community. They have invited us to find out about their wonderful organization. There will be food, music, a slide show, and a chance to meet local members and volunteers. We encourage 9/12ers to attend if you can because this will gain exposure for their program and help give back to the veterans an provide them an opportunity to find health and healing.

Team River Runner (TRR) is a partner of Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) and Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project.

Team River Runner (TRR), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, gives active duty service members and veterans an opportunity to find health, healing, and new challenges through whitewater boating and other paddling sports. The benefits of TRR have as much to do with creating a social network and support system as they do with learning water sports skills that provide an exciting adventure lifestyle that suddenly seemed lost due to injury. The program also encourages family members to participate whenever possible.
