Our Pantry to Their Pantry

From yours and our pantry to their pantry… Many of you have taken the important steps to prepare yourselves and families to stock pantries or closets in your homes. You have done the right things and stocked up food and supplies. We would like you now to open up those pantries and take just a little out and help feed others in a local food pantry near you.

Every year during this season we ask you to do something easy. I say easy because 9/12ers are some of the most charitable patriots around. During Thanks / Giving we ask you to make a small sacrifice for others that may be in need. During the month of November and December we would like you to open your hearts, arms, and pantries for your brothers and sisters in need. When our neighbors are struggling it is our job to provide charity when it’s needed, have compassion for each other, give a hand-up when we can, and most importantly, instill a little hope. This is the season of being thankful for what we have and giving back what we can.

What you can do:

- Bring few food items and cans from your personal storage or homes to the next local 9/12 meetup. Drop them off at the meeting and as a group share with a local food pantry or food bank in your area. (if your local group would like help finding a local food pantry or help coordinating please contact us at membership@ky912.com)

- Don’t wait for us; take the holiday season and opportunity to open your hearts and help out others. Give your time, food, or money to a local food pantry or homeless shelter or charity of your own choice.

- You can give to ky912 and we will use it to help make a difference. During the month of November and December we will use ALL donations (and then some) and use 100% of them to support local food pantries and charities around the state. Just donate any amount during the next 2 months and we will make sure it goes to feeding your neighbors and helping your communities. Donate

There will be more activities and other ways you will be able to be involved during the next couple of months. Please consider the next random act of kindness and show the charitable side of the Kentucky 9/12 Project and its membership.

Divine Providence by AW Pink

By Arthur W. Pink
The advantages of a clear grasp of this foundational Truth of Divine providence are many.

First, it delivers the Christian from being carried away by the tide of public opinion. Few things have a greater tendency to lead Christians into error, than the apparent success of public opinion. People in general judge of a cause by its seeming success, and often Christians are greatly influenced by this pernicious principle. Opinions spread by infection, rather than by a thorough investigation of the evidence. But an accurate acquaintance with the ways of Providence, as revealed in Scripture, is calculated to deliver from this prejudice. There we discover that God has often granted much "success" to His enemies, and by it they were hardened in their rebellion. Mere success is no proof of Truth, and lack of success is neither evidence of error nor of God's displeasure.

Second, a proper acquaintance with the grand truth of Divine Providence, should also be of real help in guarding us against having recourse to artifice and deceit, in the propagation of the Truth. The Apostle Paul, in spite of all his zeal for the Gospel, disdained all worldly wisdom in his efforts to advance its progress: he commended the Truth to every man's conscience in the sight of God. Then let us stick to the means of God's ordering, and rigorously shun all human inventions. Temptations to compromise, to lower the standard, to bring in fleshly devices so as to "draw the young people," are multiplying today.

Third, a proper acquaintance with this blessed doctrine of Divine Providence provides consolation amid so much which distresses the godly. The more a true believer ponders the character of the times in which his lot is cast—the more is his heart saddened. The affairs of this world appear to be completely under the dominion of the Prince of Darkness—but in the grand truth of God's government there is real comfort and solid support for the heart. From it we learn that even the very opposition which is made to the kingdom of Christ, is part of the plan of Divine wisdom, and will be overruled for the glory of God and of His Son. It is true that "The whole world lies in wickedness" (1 John 5:19), yet not in the sense that God has relinquished its government. The wrath of Satan shall be obliged to praise God, and any device of it which has not that tendency, He will "restrain" and not allow to be manifested.

How Long Do You Have?

The parable of the drops of water. Imagine for a moment that you are sitting in the top seat of a normal sized football stadium. It is 12:00 and you begin to see dark clouds form above. Listening to the radio the weather man warns everyone that this is a storm unlike any other and you need to get out of where ever you are and prepare for the worst. He was right in that this will not be any ordinary rain because every drop of rain that comes down will double in size every minute. So at 12:00 the first single drop of rain falls, the second minute there is two drops, the third minute four drops of rain and so on… 12:15 as the sky darkens and become even more ominous the rain continues to fall in greater amounts. The man on the radio warns now of floods that have occurred from storms in the past and the potential for this one but you have seen rain before and you have never had any problems. Intead, from your seat you see only small puddles of water begin to pool on the field with little concern. It has been raining now for 30 minutes which means the rain drops have doubled 30 times as well. The result still only a very soggy field and some people begin to leave that where around you. From your perspective there is no need for any concern and you still even have hopes that they will play the game. You actually scoff at the fair weather fans leaving and think all of them, along with the guy on the radio, are extremist or alarmist. It is now 12:45 and by this time the field is covered and that is all but it is obvious that the game will be called. The people in the first few rows have already left because of concerns with exceptions of a few diehards. To your surprise the radio is silent now and the people left around you have as little knowledge about what is going on as you do. You need to make the decision now to ride this out or try to leave with everyone else. 12:47 another minute passes and the water begins to fill the first section of the stadium and for the first time you can see the actual tragedies because of this storm and you have your first concerns. You decide you must leave now and begin to push your way to the exit along with the others that stayed behind and imagine you have time left. At 12:49, only 2 minutes later and less than an hour before this storm began that last seat you were sitting in is now under water.

Based on exponential growth this time line is 100% true. Imagine now that we all see dark clouds that have been forming for years. With every dollar of debt it creates more, with every bit of inflation compounds and causes more, every potential violence escalating and creating more panic. You see the rain beginning to fall and the weathermen warning that this could be a storm unlike any thing we have seen before. But don’t worry maybe you have seen this before or maybe you could listen to the others that say that this could never happen here. Imagine where will you be at 12:48?

Urgent Plea for Food

There is an urgent plea for help. It is your local food bank, which are short on supplies for the holidays. I would like everyone in the Lexington area if you feel called to please help and bring non-perishable food items and donations to WLAP at 2601 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, KY on TODAY November 18th (3pm – 6pm) or Saturday November 19th (11am – 3pm).

The Kentucky 9/12 Project is actively working with God’s Pantry and 630am WLAP for “from your pantry to theirs”. During the holiday season we need charity more than ever and we are asking people to take just a little back out of their pantries and food storage and donate it to a local food pantry or food bank to help those in our community. Heck just $10 at your local grocery or Wal-Mart would fill 2 bags with food. That is $10 many of these homes do not have right now and NEED. I don’t care where you get it from just do the little to help a lot today and tomorrow.

Click here for a list of food pantries we support around the state. In Lexington we will be helping stock God’s Pantry reach and feed over 1,700 homes. These are needed homes with children and empty cupboards at their houses. I need everyone to bring non-perishable food items to your local food bank or in Lexington area:

Renaissance not Revolution

Sadly we have people on both parts of the political spectrum converging now to storm the Bastille from different sides. Seeing the occupy Wall Street Mob, you should fear directionally where this country may be going. Among the crowd are anarchist and useful idiots that are crying for a revolution. They are clearly against something but with no clear vision of what they are for and even less clarity on ideas or virtue. The time is now but we do not need a revolution; what we need is a renaissance.

After decades of attempting to change things from the top down, we realize that the answer is not a revolution – it is a renaissance. We require a renaissance of people and ideas, not one of systems or policies. Any revolution without a guiding “compass” – a foundation of morals and ideas – ultimately becomes all about power. It creates the followers and useful idiots demanding the immediate overthrow of a system. By contrast, a renaissance is based on personal responsibility and personal enlightenment. It empowers leaders that will transcend to the eventual changing of a system.

The occupy mob on Wall Street and across the country has been called spontaneous, passionate, romantic; and I would add resentful, angry, and delusional - anything but statesmen, spiritual, or reasoned. As they join those on the far right and cry for the heads of the queen and leaders of the systems history tells us their end will throw themselves into the arms of tyranny to save them from the destruction they created.

We agree that the current system is broken and we, as a nation, are on the wrong path. We have drifted far from the nation of people driven by intellect, sacrifice, and public virtue that characterized this country at the time of its founding. We no longer understand – or even concern ourselves – with what it means to be a self-governing leader. As individuals, we have lost our sense of deep obligation to our marriages, our families, our communities, and even to ourselves. We have forsaken our responsibilities to not only empower others, but personally as well.

There is a clear and urgent need for a renaissance among us. It is our responsibility to empower self-governing leaders through education, preparedness, and charity. Leaders in marriages, leaders in families, leaders in businesses and churches, leaders in communities, as well as state-level and national leaders, but first of all – leaders of self in personal life.

“The ancients who wished to illustrate the highest virtue throughout the empire first ordered well their own states. Wishing to order well their own states, they first regulated their own families. Wishing to regulate their families, they first cultivated their own selves. Wishing to cultivate their own selves, they rectified their hearts. Wishing to rectify their hearts, they first sought to be sincere in their thoughts. Wishing to be sincere in their thoughts, they first extended to the utmost, their knowledge. Such extension of knowledge lay in the investigation of things.” – Confucius 500BC

We are at a great crossroads that may determine the future of our nation and the liberties of the next generation. We need a renaissance based on ideas and enlightenment to keep the flame of liberty burning. The time is now, and it is your duty and ours to empower new leaders and founders – and once again be a nation of people driven by intellect, sacrifice, and public virtue.
